No way to delete a movie or batch tag. Also no way to view in simple table format to edit quickly. The display is fixed and you are forced to view it as the developer wants it.
I'm a movie buff, so I use Coollector nearly every day. I look up a movie (displayed on the left half of the screen), see who acted in it (displayed on the right half of the screen), then click on the actors to see what other movies they were in, then explore those movies, or explore other actors in those movies. It's very fast. To do this on IMDB, one must wait for pages to load, which can be very slow, but it's immediate on Coollector. Even so, every page in Coollector has a link back to the corresponding page on the IMDB website, so it's fast and easy to navigate to IMDB if one chooses. Besides actors, Coollector displays all the other cast and crew, so it helps answer questions about the history of producers and directors, something every film buff must know. Another feature I find useful is the ability to search for movies by genre and year, so if for example I want to know what Sci Fi movies came out in 1984 (the same year as the Terminator) it will display pages for all of those movies, ordered by popularity or IMDB rating. Thus it's a great tool to help discover movies one might have missed. The one thing I'd say to potential buyers of the software is don't let the low price worry you. This is a professional piece of software, even if it's priced like shareware. It's not buggy or incomplete, it is stable and vast. Anyone who is interested in film will love Coollector and will instantly regard it as essential.
Best movie cataloger ever made for Windows.
I am using Coollector Movie Database fror more than 4 years, and I use this great tool almost everyday. Believe me, guys, it is the best movie manager, and you will love this.
Pros:
1. Great rating game, prediction is almost (about 90 perfect.
2. Back up & publish your collection, Sync is very helpful.
3. Add your own movie plot, review, notes.
4. 25+ filters.
5. Amazon, Hulu, Netflix streaming.
6. Import your collection from other programs (i.e IMDB) and TXT document.
7. Keeps you updated with latest IMDB rating & popularuty.
The prices feature isn't enabled by default, but the users interested in that feature can go to the settings panel and select which Amazon stores (US, UK, France, etc...) they want to display the prices.
